Hello, everyone. I assume you are all ready for spring. I had a taste of it in Chattanooga during the weekend of the ConNooga convention. Temperatures hit a balmy 68 and the sun felt really good. But, then MOnday came and so did the cold temperatures again. Al Gore, where are you? I want to order some of that global warming you keep telling us about.
I’d like to thank the crew at The Terminal Brewhouse (14th & Market) including Travis, Trip and Cody for their hospitality. Their food and unique selection of beers was awesome. I highly recommend you stop in for a meal or even a drink if you happen to be in Chattanooga. I’d also like to thank the ConNooga staff as well as the staff at the Choo Choo Hotel for putting on a great convention again. I’ve already committed to returning next year. I met some new faces and had some interesting panels as well. We had a good group of authors positioned together in the Exhibitors Hall: Steve Zimmer, D.A. Adams, Dan Jolly and Ed Crandell. I also had a chance to talk a little with Alex Del Monaco about how good she’d look playing “Suzie” in Night Creeps. You never know what the future holds.
Next on my list of stops is LunCon in Rye, NY. I’m hoping for good weather and an even better turn out. I’ve updated my appearances section with a new addition. I’ll be attending ReConstruction (NASFiC) in Raleigh come August 5. Raleigh was where my writing started with Pentland Press, once upon a time. Join me again soon for more news from the road.
Thanks,
Mike D.

Hi, everyone. I just returned from CapriCon in Chicago. I was amazed that they only had about 8 inches of snow compared to the piles in feet that we had here in the Philly area. I’d like to thank the staff at CapriCon for their hospitality and the new friends I met while there. I’d like to give a special thank you to the BarFleet. You guys really know how to throw a party. I’m hoping to return next year.
I recently joined the Garden State Horror Writers and the Liberty States Fiction Writers Societies. I haven’t had a chance to meet their members except for one who I do need to thank for encouraging me to join. Gary Frank, if you’re looking at this, thanks again for your help. Gary’s a great writer and a super person.
I’ll be leaving shortly for ConNooga in Chattanooga for several days. The convention is held at the Choo Choo Hotel and they draw a number of Indie movie people and celebrities as well. Several of my friends from Fright Night Film Fest in Louisville will be there as well. The army sponsors them as well, and brings in all kinds of toys from robots to simulators for entertainment. They do a really exciting recruiting program as well. I felt like re-upping last year but I’m a little past my prime. Maybe in the next life time.
My new novel, Night Creeps, has garnered quite a bit of attention, particularly with the explanation of the adult horror warning on the back cover. The book is selling very well thus far.
I just received word that I’ve got a table at ConCarolinas which is hosting DeepSouthCon48. I have a lot of friends at this convention and a nice fan base as well. I haven’t been there since 2008 and I’m looking forward to returning. Stay warm everyone and I’ll be back next week with a new update.
Thanks again,
Mike D.
