Hello, everyone;
I’m waiting for information from Helm Publishing regarding the release date of The Devil’s Playground. It’s due out in late July but that is all I have thus far. I’m waiting for a reply from Mary Katz Productions on my Night Creeps Script. I hope to hear something back soon on this.
Now for something really encouraging. I’ve never had luck with contests for screenplays. It seems that they don’t make it past the qualification round for different reasons. After reworking The Eye of Icarus several times, I entered it in Fright Night Film Fest’s screenplay contest. I just received word that it qualified for the contest! This is a big deal and I’m confident enough in the story to believe it has a chance to win. Winning a contest or even placing in it doesn’t get you a movie deal but it does give the script a reason to be read in the eyes of most producers. I still have an uphill battle in selling it because of the budget that would be required to make it. I’ll take one victory at a time though. Check back for more information later. Thx. Mike D

Comic Con in Philly was a blast this weekend. In addition to selling books in artist alley, I made quite a few new friends particularly the Flyers fans. We had quite a bit of fun. I had the opportunity to speak with a fantastic actress/music producer/and a whole lot more. This lovely woman, Max(ine) Wasa, was both charming and very business savy. I won’t get into all her projects but you can see them at www.theultimatemax.com. We had a discussion on screenplays and she requested that I write a script for her. I have a role in mind that I’ve already given a lot of consideration to writing as a novel.
Now that I’m done the con circuit until the end of July, I have to get back to work again. I just entered my script for The Eye of Icarus into the Fright Night Film Fest screenplay contest. This script has one glaring drawback to it in that it requires a “sizeable” budget. I’m hoping that with a place or a win, that a producer could use that to obtain enough financing to produce it.
I’m finishing up on a few minor changes and formatting issues on the Night Creeps script. I have a lot of confidence in my agent, Gary Maynard, that this will be picked up by someone and made into a very good movie.
Before the end of the month, you ‘ll see a few exciting changes to the Fractured Time website. Keep watching as I’ll have news on teh upcoming release of The Devil’s Playground.

Hello, everyone;
I just finished a weekend at ConQuest in Kansas City and now I’m in Charlotte for ConCarolinas. Thanks to everyone at Conquest who came by my table to purchase books or just to talk. I’d like to extend a special thanks to Jon, Phyllis and Shanda for their help as well. The Hyatt Crown Center is one heck of an experience. I highly recommend it for anyone who has occasion to stay in KC.
Now that I’m in Charlotte again, I’ve had a chance to meet a number of friends and fans. I had been to ConCarolinas several times until last year due to other obligations. This convention has come so far from my first trip in. The staff are outstanding and deserve high commendation for the way the convention has grown every year. I’d like to extend a special thanks to Ron, Stephanie, Janet and Carol for all their hard work and help in making my appearances a pleasant and rewarding experience. For anyone in the Charlotte area this weekend, I strongly recommend that you get off the sofa and come on down.
