2011

Hello, everyone and welcome back during a holiday season. I wish everyone the best regardless of what religion, race or nationality you may be. I just returned from a really good weekend in Pittsburgh at SteelCityCon. I’d like to start by congratulating Domenic Allesandria for putting on a great convention. He pus a lot of effort into this convention every four months and this, being my first SteelCityCon, was really something to see. There were over 500 dealers, artists and writers along with everything from toys, comics, novelties to candies and fudge. The Double Tree Hotel did a great job promoting the convention and were very hospitable to the guests. They had a dynamite lineup of celebrities that included Henry Winkler, Linda Blair, Maria Kanellis (former WWE diva) and many others.
I had the opportunity to speak with Maria Kanellis and was impressed by some of her many talents. She is also an actress, singer, writer and engages in sword fighting activities. She also is involved in directing as well as acting. I don’t know where she finds the time. She is also involved in five film projects as well. I’m sure you’ll be hearing a lot from her in the future. She is on Facebook at OfficialMariaKanellis. You can also see a photo of Maria with me at SteelCityCon on my Facebook page as well.
On a different note, I’ve received a lot of interest in my Princess Pain screenplay over the last few weeks. I also received a really good feedback report from a contest I entered (Fresh Voices Competition) for the script. Perhaps this will be the one to break the ice.
I am working on some signing opportunities in the Phoenix area for early January. With the book business as slow as it is, many stores don’t feel it’s worth the trouble to bring an author in for a signing. I think it’s up to the authors to win over the fans and prove that books are worth their weight in gold. Okay, maybe not gold but they are very important. We all need to escape and I know first hand that I can only handle so much computer time. There’s nothing better than sitting on the front porch on a beautiful evening and reading a thrilling story. My personal favorite authors are Laurel K Hamilton, Storm Constantine and Terry Brooks.
Join me again soon for the latest news in my worlds. In the mean time, have a safe and happy holiday season.
