Hello, everyone. Welcome to another edition of Author's Corner. This past month, my focus has been on completion of the screenplay for Fractured Time. Now that I've finally finished it, I can turn some of my attention back to my books and promotions. At this time, I can't give any tips on the different things I'm attempting. Hopefully, I'll have some information on the results by next month. I've registered the screenplay with the Writers Guild of America- East to provide some protection and I'm entering FT into the Key West Indie Festival.
In the meantime, I'm still waiting for word from two publishers regarding the paperback version of Fractured Time and Dark Horizon, the third book in the trilogy.
Next month, I should have a list of upcoming book signings in the area. I'm limited on time because of my work schedule, but I try to accommodate everyone.
Another item on my list is to speak with members of nearby school districts to see how they feel about Fractured Time as required reading material. I don't know what their criteria are, but I'll find out. I'll pass along the results of my discussions at a later time.
Last month, I mentioned that I was looking for a book publicist. I have had only one response and that was an acknowledgement that my request was received and would be looked at sometime soon. This is an example of what a tough business this is. The number of writers far exceeds the number of services and resources. I'm still hoping to salvage a good holiday campaign but, like everything else, it's going to be hard work.
I'm still hoping to coral some media support but crime, corruption and war are tough to beat these days. Eventually, I'll get their attention.
