Welcome back to another Author's Corner. My School project is going very well so far. I'm racing against time to finish contacting selected high schools from the last ten states on my list before the school year ends. I've received many positive responses from department heads, teachers and principles, who have taken time out of their busy schedule to consider and respond to my request. For those of you who aren't familiar with this, I'm proposing Fractured Time be considered for the school reading lists around the country. I will be in New York City from June 25-27. Some new developments with the screenplays have forced me to alter my plans a bit. Hopefully, I'll have some good news in the next month or two. June 30 to July 6 is my big week in Phoenix for WesterCon 57 - ConKoppeli. This will be my first visit to Phoenix although I've been to Tucson on several occasions. I'm looking forward to participating in several of the panel discussions. They have some very interesting topics on the programming list. I've just learned that the guest list for Shore Leave in Baltimore is full, so, unfortunately, I won't be able to participate in it this year. I'm waiting for word from DragonCon, scheduled for Labor Day weekend. Hopefully by next month, I'll have additional info on that festival. Of late, I've been working diligently to complete the screenplay for Twisted Fate.I hope to have that completed before I go to New York. After that, I have to choose between the third screenplay (for Dark Horizon) or the series following Fractured Time (10 episodes) based on scenes in the book not used in the screenplay. This month's writer's tip is about writing a screenplay: The threat, danger or antagonist should be revealed near or about page 80 in a 100-120 page project. At this point, you should be into the climax. This puts you in position to wrap up in less than 120 pages. I recomend Final Draft 6 for screenwriting software. It's easy to work with, especially for beginners and it's accepted by everyone. Thanks again and join me next month for another Author's Corner. - Michael D'Ambrosio . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
