Hello, everyone. Welcome to another edition of Author's Corner. I've just returned from DragonCon and sadly enough, my little vacation is over. It's back to work on my projects as well as my regular job. The next three months will very challenging for me. First, I'd like to thank the DragonCon staff for their excellent support, especially Brenda T., Geoff, Janey, and Janine. Congratulations on another successful year of DragonCon. I had the chance to speak with two lovely ladies that I'm sure you all know, Sybil Danning and Raquel Gardner. I'm sure you've seen them on TV or in the theatres at one time or another. It would be great to see Raquel as Veronica (Ronnie) Vander Slice if the Fractured Time Series makes it to the silver screen. Cross your fingers. I met a wild and crazy bunch of friends that I'd like to mention. Hello to Frank, Lisa, Nancy, Dennis, Milli, Mark and everyone else from the concourse corner bar. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you next year. Thanks for your great hospitality. I also met with the crew from the SciFi Radio show out of Florida. They are a new (about one year old) science fiction show that we all hope will be syndicated soon. You can find them live on www.scifiradiozone.com or at WFLA 540 AM (in Florida of course) on Saturday nights at 11 p.m. They hope to be syndicated soon and on a radio station near you. Good luck to Dawn Carter and her crew. August was a very productive month for me. I completed the manuscript for Space Frontiers: The Eye of Icarus. It is under review by Metropol Literary Agency. I'm currently working on the fifth episode of the ten episode TV series for Fractured Time. This would follow the movie and show four scenes from the book not included in the movie screenplay. Six of the scenes are new and designed to keep you wanting more until Twisted Fate makes its way to the big screen. I'll begin outlining the screenplay for Space Frontiers, Eye of Icarus as well as the new Space Frontiers novel (book two of the series). It's a very aggressive schedule but if the first screenplay sells, there will be a domino effect in several directions. This month's Writers' Tip is for those who endeavor to write screenplays. I had the chance to ask an independent film producer about the cost of CGI (computer-generated imaging) and how it compares to the rest of the motion picture making budget. CGI is a very cost effective means of producing a movie. So if your screenplay requires a significant amount of CGI, don't be concerned. If it doesn't, you may want to use it where possible versus a scene with real props. This is an important consideration when developing a budget. In addition, it could be the difference between your screenplay being selected versus another's. Coming up in my busy schedule are a few speaking events at Delaware County Community College. I'm waiting for the dates and times from them. I'm also waiting for word from several bookstores in the tri-state area (Pa/NJ/De) as well as LosCon (November) and PhilCon (December). I hope to have more information shortly.
