Welcome, everyone, to another edition of Author's Corner. I recently returned from Astronomicon (Rochester). This was a very well organized convention for its size. I was also impressed with the friendliness of everyone at the convention. They only ran two tracks at a time but the selection of panel topics was really good. I had the opportunity to talk with a number of fans about my books and screenplays. It's always fun to trade ideas and techniques with others in the businesses who are receptive to new ideas.

I've just received my invitation to PhilCon on December 9-11. I was researching their website at www.Philcon.org and was really impressed with the size of the convention. Their panel selection really surprised me. If you reside in the Philadelphia area, I think it's worthwhile to check out the convention. I know several of the guests who are coming and I know it's going to be a good time.

I've also been invited to RavenCon in Richmond, Va. on April 21-23. Two very talented friends of mine, Tee Morris and Tony Ruggierio, are a big part of the RavenCon committee. I'm sure it will be a very good convention. Check out their site at Ravencon.com.

August 23rd-27th is LA Con IV, which is hosting the 64th Worldcon (World Science Fiction Convention). I've sent word to them that I'd be available to attend. Hopefully, they haven't filled their slate yet. I've heard that WorldCons are something special.

I'm still patiently waiting for word from the publisher regarding the acceptance of my new novel, The Eye of Icarus. There's not a whole lot I can do except to continue writing and see what happens.

Speaking of writing, I've started work on a Christmas screenplay. It's a comedy with some new ideas and themes relative to today's environment. I hope to have it finished and on the market by January.

There are two screenplays completed for the Eye of Icarus. I split the novel into two screenplays, which are titled The Eye of Icarus and Leviathan based on major events in the story. Since that time, I've completed the second novel in the Space Frontiers series, Dangerous Liaisons.

Currently I'm working on the third book, which is untitled as of yet. This series promises to be very exciting and the characters are sure to entertain you. I'm hoping to land a multi-book deal with the publisher to include each of the new novels as I finish them. I don't want to be caught with a time limit for generating new stories. I can't imagine trying to write under the gun. That becomes too much like work and I can't see writing with the same creative qualities when pressured. Check back for more information on my projects in next month's Author's Corner.

Take care, everyone, and have a happy, healthy holiday season.
