Welcome back to another edition of Author’s Corner. I’m moving into another season of conventions and signings with a bit of a surprise. My new novel, Dangerous Liaisons, is coming out in February, much to my surprise. I was pleased with the timing of this since I have a number of events on the schedule beginning in February. I also want to introduce you to my new illustrator, Vin Libassi. He’s done an outstanding job on the new cover in an effort to portray Will and Shanna on an alien planet.

For those of you that are new to the site, Dangerous Liaisons is the second book in the new Space Frontiers Series. I hope to have copies in time for ConNooga (ChattaNooga) and MegaCon (Orlando).

Some of the feedback I’ve received from show hosts who’ve read The Eye of Icarus have been outstanding. If you haven’t read it, I encourage you to try it. Several of the hosts have pointed out how young adults can gain a lot from the experiences of Will and Shanna. For the more experienced readers, there are characters for you as well. The story demonstrates how loose military control over areas of space might be in a future scenario, lending to renegade characters like Will Saris who attempts to lead a double life.

In April, I’m participating in the L.A. Times Book Festival at UCLA’s campus. After that, I’m still juggling to see what I can attend. I’ve had to turn down a few conventions because of timing already which I hate to do but there are others that I’d like to attend later in the year.

The last few months, I’ve been working on revisions to the manuscript and screenplay for Night Creeps. This is a horror/science-fiction story with a twisted plot. With this finally completed, I can move on now to other projects.

On my list of to-dos is another review of The Devil’s Playground, which will be the third book in the Space Frontiers series. I have to make time to get into Galaxy of the Damned, which will be next in the series. I’ve outlined it and I really have to start writing the story. Will and Shanna, the lead characters have a rough road ahead of them as each adventure takes them deeper and deeper into a twisted web of evil stretching across the universe.

I’m also assisting my publisher, Helm Publishing, in putting together a science fiction cruise in Spring of 2010. I hope to have literature to distribute at the conventions as well as at any other events I participate in. The cruise will include celebrities, interviews, a midnight ball and other events. It will likely be a four day Caribbean cruise out of Miami and details are already being worked out by Dianne Helm with Carnival Cruises for discounted rates to all participants. For more information or questions on the cruise, you can contact Dianne through her website at www.publishersdrive.com or myself and I’ll do my best to answer them or forward them for you.

I’m still working on The Queen of Spades, which is a dark murder thriller which occurs in the White House. This is a really cool story that I think would be a great novel if I had the time to write it and if I had a better knowledge of Washington, D.C.

For the new and aspiring writers out there, if you have any questions or comments for me, please don’t hesitate to send them along. It’s always good to hear from others especially about their experiences.

Join me in March for another edition of Author’s Corner.
