2010
Hello, everyone. Thanks for joining me again. After a fun day on Thursday at ReConstruction, I had to return to Philadelphia due to a death in the family. I had a really good panel on Thursday night with a very good audience. We covered a whirlwind of topics on “Preparing Your Work for the Media” in a little over an hour. I hoped to continue some of the discussion in the dealers hall during the remainder of the weekend but perhaps another time. I had some spirited discussions on writing with friends Debra Killeen, and Allen Wold. It’s always good to exchange ideas with other talented writers. We never stop learning from each other.
On Wednesday, I appeared at Barnhill’s in Winston-Salem. This is one of the nicest stores I have ever been to for a signing with the sweetest staff. They not only feature books, but wine, wine-tasting, and a variety of gifts. I look forward to returning there on my next visit to North Carolina. I highly recommend them and if you go, telling them I sent you. You can access their website from my list of links. Thanks, Tracey for having me at your store.
The weekend before, I was in Louisville for Fright Night Film Fest. This is an awesome convention especially for those who enjoy horror movies. Ken Daniels and his staff do a fantastic job of running the con. I understand they are expanding to include other programs for next year and may adapt a new name as well. I won’t get into details as I don’t want to steal their thunder on this. They will update their site soon to reflect their surprises.
I found time to see a few of the film shorts and web series that premiered there. A talented young man named Trey McGriff produced a short entitled Kuriosity Killz. I enjoyed watching this Crypt-Keeper like story and I think we’ll hear more from this talented young man. Hats off to his wife, Caron, for a great job stepping in during finals week at school to star as the innocent Candy. You can see more at KuriosityKillz.com.
I also saw a new webseries premier entitled Girl/Girl scene starring Tucky Williams and Katie Stewart. Congratulations to Nic Brown (producer) and his crew. I was pleasantly surprised by this episode and the excellent display of acting.
My next stop is CopperCon on Labor Day weekend. On Friday, September 3rd, my publisher Patti H from AZ Publishing and I are hosting a book launch at the Windemere Hotel to celebrate the re-release of my new Fractured Time series, my Night Creeps adult horror novel, and my latest Space Frontiers novel The Devil’s Playground. Patti will have other authors with new works as well. The launch will have food, drink and, of course, books! For those of you who will be at CopperCon, make sure you leave room in your schedule to visit us. Thanks again for joining me.
Michael,
I am really enjoying your Fractured Time series, which my son Trey McGriff, gave me for my birthday. I love having signed copies, knowing that you two met, and I look forward to reading more of your works— would love to see the story in a movie.
